Never Seen a Retail Year Like This

I've never seen a retail year like this. The competition is absolutely fierce. I do not believe for one second that the consumer is going to be easily separated from their money but that's not going to stop retailers from going all out.

I've been especially watching Amazon and WalMart go at it with Blu-Rays and DVDs. I just picked up Young Frankenstein from Amazon for $2.

Amazing.

Its going to be a crazy year for retail definitely, I am planning on heading out to brave the crowds to Kohls, Kmart and Target on black Friday to see if I can grab some of the doorbuster specials.

I find it ironic that, in our local newspaper, there was an article about the county government laying off 22 people NOW and a few pages later a big "Don't forget to shop Charlotte County this holiday"....um...who can shop for anything but necessities when you're laying everyone off????

They're have been some great deals lately. I got my niece a strawberry shortcake doll that she wanted at walmart for $14 dollars. They had it for $25 three days before and then two days after I bought it they put it back up to $20. There is defintely going to be some bargains on friday and we are already making our game plan. I have been chosen to stay up all night and go to toys'r'us and walmart for everybody.
