Christmas DecorationsChristmas is a hands-on art. From the lights we put on the house to the decorations we put on the tree to the great foods we eat in the process, Christmas is a time of doing -- and this is the place we gather to talk, plan and share.

Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.

I use those RF controlled outlets. I have gotten good deals on several of them, and it really doesn't matter to me if a few are on the same frequency. In fact, it makes it a little easier. That way I can turn everything on from a little remote control center.
My friend had a problem with the one he bought and his neighbor. Luckily for him, I have a number of them so I just traded with him for a different frequency. I suppose if there ever comes a time that I have a problem using them, I might use timers. I've wanted to make some custom light strands with C9 bulbs with heavy gauge wire, though. Without going too far into boring detail, the lights would connect to a control/bus box that I would have plugged into a dedicated circuit for the entire display.
a dedicated circuit would be nice. I know some of those people who have those HUGE displays do this. I've always had good luck with the mechanical timers and plan to stick with them, they are inexpensive.
Well, as I acknowledged in a prior thread, I like to make things more complicated than they need to be. One good thing about the timers are you can't forget to turn them off like I have a habit of doing.
