Again, there is no animal control and the deputy that came out last nite said if the dog comes into the yard and attacks we have the right to do what is neccessary to protect ourselves and our property. I am not condoning going out dog hunting.

one neighbor is carrying pepper spray. Maybe that will deter her from coming around.

Okay, I don't mean to come off as some maniacal dog battling warrior, but I wouldn't trust pepper spray to stop any dog, let alone a Mastiff from attacking me. It's unfortunate that the dog poses a threat, but the threat is serious enough to warrant addressing with force. I've seen dogs completely ignore electrical shock before, too. Dog attacks can be a really scary situation.

Me either, considering if she was to stand on her back legs she would probably be well over 6 foot and I bet she weighs well over 100 pounds. I am not sure of much that would stop her if she really got to charging.

And I wonder why she is so mean? My aunt had an english mastiff for 10 years and even with his size he still tried to be a lap dog.

I don't get into animal psychology, but my mother and sisters are huge dog lovers (terriers for the most part). I've heard time and time again that it's the owner/trainer that dictates the dog's behavioral pattern.

Ohhh, okay. If my life were threatened by something that could literally rip me or someone I care about limb from limb, I wouldn't hesitate to put it down. Do you have any firearms?

I totally agree. I too am a dog lover (any animal for that fact) and have had dogs since I could walk and I have never had one turn mean on me. I wonder what this guy does to this dog to make her so mean. The aggressive female has a pup that we are actually taking care of. He started coming over a few weeks ago so wormy and starving so we wormed him and are keeping him in food and water. The neighbor has not even noticed. So far he is friendly and alot healthier. I have starting calling him Feet because he has such huge ones to be a pup.
