Christmas DecorationsChristmas is a hands-on art. From the lights we put on the house to the decorations we put on the tree to the great foods we eat in the process, Christmas is a time of doing -- and this is the place we gather to talk, plan and share.

I leave my lights on all night and on Christmas Day I leave them on all day and night. I appreciate people who leave them on later at night because I work midnight shift and as I drive to work it's nice to get to see some houses lit up.

My family and I usually keep our lights on when we are awake at night, but then turn them off when we go to bed. It saves power, but the real reason I do it is because I love to sleep in a pitch black room!

My inside lights are on all day from the time we get up until the time we go to bed, but if we leave for any reason, we always turn them off. The outside lights, we turn on when it is getting dark and we turn off when we go to bed. I think this year, we are going to get a timer for them. It's just so much easier to do it that way.
