Well, Monday we had our baking sugar cookie day. I had 5 grandchildren here, ages 9, 8, 5 and 2. (two of them are age 8) We rolled (only one lost his dough, fell off the table onto the floor, LOL, but no worries I had more dough mixed up in the bowl.
We cut out the shapes, the 2 yr. old really surprised me, she did a wonderful job and was so good. It was her first time making cookies. The 5 yr. old, who lost his cookie dough when he rolled it off the table onto the floor, was so proud when he cut out a shape, he held it up to show everyone and yep, you guessed it, his cookie fell apart.
After the cookies were cut out and in the oven, 4 of the kids went to the basement to play but one grandaughter, she's 8 said she wanted to stay with me and help me clean up. Bless her heart. I left her run the dust buster, she loved it, she's the one I call Suzy homemaker, she loves to clean.
Then we decorated the cookies to the sound of Christmas music playing (Bing Crosby of course) and cookie sprinkles making a sound as they hit my laminated floor, LOL.
We had a grand time and I know I will never forget these times with them. Sadly the two oldest grandsons no longer make cookies with me, but I still have 5 that like to do it.
And bye the way, the cookie dough that ended up on the floor, went into the garbage can, LOL, no one used it.
I'm a very blessed Nany and I'm so thankful to my daughters and sons-in-love, (they are sons-in-law but we love them just like our own children), for giving my husband and I such great grandchildren, they are awesome. OK, I know you can tell, I'm their grandma but really they are great kids.
