My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
I'm trying to find trees online because I have fallen in love with a 7ish foot pistol pine tree at one of the stores here, but it has a €210 price tag. So I wanted to see if online was any cheaper. Is it just me, or are there way more pre-lit trees than regular trees? Where's the fun in that?
Oh well, guess I'll see if it goes on sale a bit. 210 isn't 500 at least, and I want a good artificial tree that'll last me quite a while.
One online place specializes in unlit trees, www.christmasdepot.com. They aren't cheap, but they do have a good selection so you can see what's out there.
The trouble with the prelit ones is that once the lights start to burn out, they are a BEAR to replace since the lights are wrapped around the branches. You're left with either devoting your life to the task or giving up and buying a new tree. But then, Christmas Depot has an entire page on that issue. http://www.christmasdepot.com/noprelit.php
As I've said before, the sight of a pre-lit makes me cringe. Not because they don't look good, but because for a couple years I was doing the decorating for a local pizza place that used to be a movie theater. The place was huge. Someone along the line before me decided on buying mostly pre-lits (except our center piece that was over 40' 8) ). I spent more time dealing with burnt bulbs and entire inoperable strands than I did stringing the big tree.
