I had a little bit of the blues on christmas night but I am over them for now. When I take down the decorations this weekend they will return but I am sure that being on here will get me over them quick. I have already started my 2010 notebook and I will start searching for new recipes to try out before next christmas soon.

I have a bit of the blues too. Christmas went by waaaayyyyy too fast. Come to think of it.....Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas were a bit of a blur. However, I have some fond memories to cherish.

I just hate the thought of taking down my Christmas decorations. The lights are soooo pretty. I was going to start taking down the decorations today, but I don't feel well, so I'll start tomorrow. I was, also, going to do some post-Christmas shopping this morning, but I'll do it tomorrow too. My parents gave me money for Christmas and I have my eye on a couple of items I want. I, also, want to check out the store's after Christmas sales. Most have their decorations/gifts/food 50% off.

Oh well, I guess I'll start planning for my next favorite holiday, which is Easter. I'll be decorating in nine weeks! I like to decorate, at least, five weeks early, so I can enjoy the decorations longer.

It's nice to have these big holidays to look forward to.

Still Sad

I am very new here but so happy to have found this site. I always get very, very sad after Christmas. Guess I just don't feel like I have much to look forward to. Christmas is the main thing I look forward to all year. It definitely helps to know that others are also saddened when Christmas is over and that I am not alone. Does anyone else here leave their tree up for a while ?? I usually don't take mine down 'til toward the end of Jan. I hope everyone here has a really good year.

Hello, caninemom3!

I take my Christmas tree down after January 6. I think that is the official end of the Christmas season.

I was going to take down the other decorations, this week, but just didn't get to it. I'll do it Tuesday and Wednesday and finish with the tree next weekend.

I did do a little post-Christmas shopping yesterday and bought my cards for next Christmas and a few other things. There is one other decoration I want and I hope the store I saw it in, still has it Saturday night. It was a Christmas countdown clock. The original price was $20, but it's 50% off, so I'll get it for $10. It has a huge digital display. This should make my bah-humbug friends really happy, whenever they come to my house for a visit.

I did look at some Valentine merchandise, because I'll be shopping for those gifts in a week or so. The most surprising item I found was for Easter. A pharmacy called CVS had a small display of Russell Stover Easter eggs and those wonderful marshmallow Peeps. I had to do a double take when I saw that. I've "never" seen Easter merchandise out this early!

Well, I think I'll fire up my Christmas lights one last time and enjoy the rest of the day. It's back to work tomorrow.

Take care and Happy New Year!!!!

Working on the Christmas 2010 notebook. Already came up with gift ideas for a few people and bout a few small gifts/stocking stuffers as well. Also including a section for Halloween and Thanksgiving in my notebook and may even add in a section for the kids birthday parties.

Christmas 2009 may be winding down but the planning for Christmas 2010 is just getting started!!!
I do the same thing--put up winter decorations and start planning for next Christmas!

This year it has all gone by faster than ever due to how busy my husband and I were with work (both of us love our jobs though so it wasn't totally a bad thing). This year I am going to make a point of writing in my Christmas notebook weekly so I can be a little more prepared. More prepared=more festive!
