Real Tree....Question

We go to a family friend who has a huge Christmas tree farm....guess you call it that! Anyway, is it a Douglas Fir that has the short, soft needles? We got that sort of tree, last year and it was absolutely gorgeous and quite frangrant, as well. I loved how the needles were short and soft and the needles didn't drop off like mad, either. I want to be sure we get the same type, this year, so hoping this is what we want to look for/ask for. If anyone knows for sure if this is what we had and what I want again, I'd appreciate it if you could post that this was indeed a Douglas fir or I am way off on what I think this tree was.

Hey there Christmasfanatic,
I just happen to be reading a book on growing Christmas trees and starting a Christmas tree farm.

From your description and the variety's popularity, I would say that yes, you did have a Douglas Fir.

Here is some info from online.

They really do have a wonderful frangrance! Almost a citrus smell as well as the 'Christmas tree' smell.
