I give up being cranky and depressed for Lent... that usually carries me through to Easter...

Or you could follow Rodmonster's lead and make everyday in February and March Mardi Gras..!

I go walking a lot and see nature getting ready for spring which gives me lots of hope ! The daffodils are popping up and now about 2 inches, the trees are in bud and ready to pop open any time. The temperature has risen, it's actually quite mild today and it's been raining a lot. The days are getting longer very slowly... SPRING IS IN THE AIR !!!! Only a few more weeks and everything will be green again !!

With all that snow, you should stop shoveling and get a snow blower. Your lower back will thank you.

I love a snowy landscape, whether it's in December or February. And when the weather report says a new snowfall is coming, I'm a happy guy.

My least favorite time of year is after the melt and before spring really hits. When the grass is soggy, brown, and matted, the trees and bushes are bare, and the pavement and streets are muddy. Like this:

Two months of that is a downer.

I drink lots of low cal hot cocoa and since we have a fireplace we build lots of fires. It makes it much more cheerful. Also, I keep the garland on the fireplace all year with lights intertwined and I plug them in every afternoon.
