Christmas TogetherWe're here year round and even though we are scattered all over the world and most of us have never met face-to-face we find ways to celebrate the season together. From our annual Christmas exchanges to scheduled chats our Christmasing together is discussed here.
I returned from my summer vacation on Sunday night.
July 1 - 10: I competed at the 2010 World Ultimate Club Championships in Prague, Czech Republic. Had a fantastic time both playing and seeing the sites of Prague. Great times with teammates.
July 10 - 11: Traveled through Czech Republic and Germany on the City Night Train to Amsterdam.
July 11 - 15: Four awesome days in Amsterdam with four good friends.
July 15 - 18: Attended the 2010 Honda Indy in Toronto with my mom, her husband, my brother, his fiance and my girlfriend. A great way to end the vacation!
Hard to believe the vacation that I have looked forward to since last December has already come and gone. I had a great time. Now I must buckle down and make money to ensure that I have enough for what could be my final year of school in the fall.
"The bells, the bows and the flashing lights, the mistletoes and the 'Silent Nights. It's all for show, but that's all right. That's not why I love this time of year..."
We made a return trip to Hilo, Hawaii at the end of June to relax and visit with a friend of ours who lives nearby. Unlike our previous trip, which was gray and rainy every day, we saw some sunshine and enjoyed warm weather, beautiful views, and our first loco moco!*
*Loco moco is a Hawaiian comfort food that was invented in Hilo: a scoop or two of white rice with a hamburger patty on top smothered in brown gravy and topped with a fried egg. Healthy, no. Satisfying, yes!
We've only been taking one weeklong vacation every four years, plus a mini-vacation on our every wedding anniversary every fifth year. This year we went to Walt Disney World for our vacation. DH has decided that we need to take a weeklong vacation every year from now on. He has a very stressful job and it was wonderful to spend an entire week with him & DD with no mention of/phone calls from work. In any case, three more years until our 20th anniversary!
We generally go to the shore for a week with my family but not this year... my sister bought a house in June, we're closing on our house in July, having a baby in August, and my sister is getting married in September... no vacation for any of us! Too much going on!
I wish it could be Christmas forever...
