LED lights...yes or no?

Hi guys...I see these super bright colored LED lights everywhere now with claims that they use about 88% less energy. Since I plaster lights all over the place, this sounds like a decent cost savings.

BUT are they as good as the regular colored mini-lights? Are they as bright? Are they dimmer? Do they look similar to the old multi-colored mini-lights?

I have to say that in those displays in Target they look just the same.

So LMK ASAP because I am seriously considering running out and buying them and using those this year.

I went LED for Halloween, both electric and battery operated and am very happy with them. I bought a few strings for Christmas but have not installed them yet. I got them at Target and on display they looked wonderful. I suggest buy some and give them a try.

As I've said time and time again, I've been using the LED lights since I first saw them a few years ago. I'm very pleased with them and in many ways prefer them over mini bulbs.

I think they're great. They're not as bright as standard lights, so depending on where you put them, you might want to mix the standard in with the LED. Looks nice together.

Question though, is it ok to use outdoor LEDs inside? I did last year and had no problem. What really can result from that? I wanna use them again this year for the stairs. I dont see what the issue would be, because they don't get hot like some outdoor lights do, which is why you wouldn’t bring those types indoors.

As with any electric devices, Outdoor rated is find for inside or out, but INdoor should only be used inside. The difference is just in protection against the elements.

No problem. The only real complaint I have about my LED lights is the lack of the ability to connect multiple sets together, but they're chaser and every mini bulb chaser set I've seen is the same way. I've thought about soldering two sets of lights to one controller/transformer, but I'm unsure how it would work out. I'd hate to ruin two perfectly good sets for nothing, but I guess I could just seperate the two if it didn't work out (as long as I don't fry anything ).

I almost fried myself messing with that tree stand yesterday. When I put it back together one of the brushes crossed over and touched the other rail for the revolving power outlet. Good thing I had my hand on the switch.
