I have one tree in our family room which is artifical and prelit with clear lights. Last year we bought our first "real" tree and we bought colored led lights to go on it. That goes in our living room. I like both but I think I like colored the best . To me clear/white is more classy and elegant and colored is more Christmassy and family..if that makes sense? That is why I like to have one of each! Im a little more picky on what goes on my clear/white light tree. I only put gold and red ornaments on that tree. My colored tree any ornaments get put on except for breakable ones since I have 2 little kids.

That actually makes lots of sense!
Colored lights are really hard to get here though! My mum used to always put colored light in front of the kitchen window, she bought those when her and my dad first lived together! But when those broke we never managed to find new ones, so i'm always looking for those to be able to give those to her

In my neighborhood, everyone had the white mini lights outside their house except for mine, I always use mini multi colored. Over the years I have noticed that more and more homeowners are switching to multi colored lights. So, just to shake things up, I started putting up the large multi colored lights (you know, the type from the 70's). I had so many people tell me that they thought it look really cool. Hey, maybe I'm starting another trend??? What do you think?

We use all clear but I do like the big, vintage-style colored bulbs!

I grew up with multi-color lights. But I put both white and multi on the tree. If I ever buy a pre-lit tree(which I hope), I will buy white lights. If I get the urge for multi lights I can add them I guess.

WE've always had multi colored lights on our tree. This year, we will put up a pre lit tree that we bought after Christmas last year.

I have to admit I like clear lights, but we have the retro style multicoloured ones. It wasn't a conscious decision we've just had them that long, they've come back into fashion a bit. I tried to get my fiancee to do the same with clothes but she was having none of it .

light

I use both on my tree ( colored and white lights). I like lots of lights. I think it makes it look very nice and full.
