Gift ideas for a 6 year old girl?

Helllpp!!! (lol) I have a 6 year old girl and for the first time ever I am clueless on what to get her for Christmas. She has asked for pretty much everything advertised on TV (like they do) But sometimes they just ask for it because they see it. Ive bought stocking fillers, like nail varnish, kiddie make-up etc. She has loads of Barbies etc and although she asked for MORE Barbies and Kens I dont really want to buy anymore because its absolutely ridiculous (i collect dolls too) and we have no room.
What do you buy a 6 year old girl?? Shes at that awkward age if you know what I mean?

That's a tough age to buy for, I know because we have two nieces about the same age ... does your daughter like crafting projects, like making jewellery or does she enjoy drawing or painting?

We tried to figure out what we observed them doing for fun when we visited and based our gift search around that.

I don't know if this helped but I'll be following the thread to see if we can get some more ideas as well. Good luck!

How about music? A little keyboard?
Or CDs of music you approve and an iPod?
All my kids have iPods except for 8 month old Hagin! giggle!
DVDs? Computer games? Games for a Wii or console you have? Or if you don't have a game console, maybe get one?
Just throwing things in my mind out there.

How about picking out a couple books at her reading level---or getting a gift card so you can go to the bookstore together and let her pick her own? If she isn't reading much yet, you can read them along with her. I'm a big believer in getting kids to like reading!

THis idea just comes from the top of my head when you said that she's creative but is there a kids type video camera so that she could make her own movies and such?
