In my step-daughter's stocking we would usually put small things like: lip gloss, bits of candy, funky pens, a cute pair of socks, etc. Just small, fun things.

In my hubs stocking I usually put some scratch off lottery tickets, some small packets of his favorite coffees, some honey roasted cashews (he loves them), and maybe a DVD or something.

Candy, lip gloss/lip balm, cards, Play-Doh, lotions, small toys I find here and there. As a kid, my mom always put an apple and an orange in the toe of the sock as well as candy and nuts.

I put gift cards: Subway, Movies, McDonalds, lip balm, body sprays, hand sanitizer gels, keychains, a bunch of small stuff that I find in my travels. For girls, hair barrettes and accessories.

Here is something fun my mom does. She wraps each item in white tissue paper (or colored - whatever you want). It makes it more fun to figure out whats inside and it doesn't all fall to the bottom with the tissue paper. We sometimes get lip balm, candy, body wash, cds, a dvd, candles, christmas socks, candy canes, hot chocolate packs etc. At the very top of the stocking my mom puts a few candy canes or one of those plastic candy cane tubes with candy in it and a stuffed animal (like a bear, penguin, snowman, whatever you want).

My husband is always tough for stocking stuffers. But I usually get him a Terry's Chocolate Orange, which he loves. I'll also do scratch n' wins and golf balls - I really have to get him thinking about what he wants for stocking stuffers because if I didn't ask, he wouldn't give me any ideas!
