My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
I'll be taking my son and daughter to Santa's Grotto at the Winter Wonderland in town soon. Im looking forward to it this year as I wonder how my son will react to it. Last year he was absolutely fine, he didnt pull his beard or anything, in fact I reckon he was too scared to move hahaha. I had trouble with my daughter in the past. One time I took her she screamed her head off. So last year was the first time she had been in a couple of years. She was fine with it, thankfully, but I wonder if I got it all to come again with my son???
Nowadays the children sit on a stool by Santa. Which I think is a bit daft, but I guess its the times we live in.
I think the key to all this Grotto business is to find the best representation of Santa. I took my daughter to one before and the guy in the suit couldnt had been any older than 21!! So disappointing.
And most of them arent good value for money.
Do you have any experiences to share?
When I was about 5 I went to a grotto with my mum and the guy, helping santa out (wink wink), was my grandad (mum's dad) - hadn't clue, thought he was great!!!!!! (I did wonder why my mum was so keen to have a photo of her on santa's knee though!)
