"Kettles and Bells" by Billy Walker

It's been a while since I heard this one, but it may be able to fit both categories.

Thanks for jogging my merry music memories, RJD.

How about The Pretenders song 2000 Miles (or was that mentioned already?) It mentions Christmastime and snow falling, but to me it's a song about a travelling spouse not Santa.

This one isn't Christmassy, but the mention of snow and a fireplace makes me think of Christmas.

Jason Donovan's, When You Come Back to Me

And here's The River by Joni Mitchell that mentions Christmas coming and putting up reindeer, but the rest of the song isn't very Christmassy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WM3vKiaKe_w

If you're looking for something instrumental that I associate with Christmas (could just be me), it would be Music Box Dancer by Frank Mills.

I suppose I have to admit that Kenny Loggins' song Celebrate Me Home could be heard anywhere since I use it as a cool down song throughout the year on several of the Spin Cycle CD's I've made.

I'll try and think of more.

Another possible instrumental: "Snowfall" by Claude Thornhill.

Although it was for National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, the song Holiday Road wasn't very Christmassy at all.

Still thinking ...
