Does Christmas help you cope?

Over the past few years, I've noticed myself dreaming of Christmas during periods of high stress. Different memories, songs, and a general longing for the season tend to creep into my head when I'm really busy or having a bad day. Does this happen to anybody else?

For the most part life is great but I do like to escape into a magical Christmas place to cheer me up if I happen to feel down. It does help a lot.

It especially helps during the summer when the heat is so unbearable, 100+ for days and weeks at a time. So miserable you can't even go outside and just kind of brings you down a bit. I like to watch Christmas movies and listen to Christmas music to just make things around me feel cooler!

Christmas music and movies are instant mood enhancers for me. When I'm buried in chores or the world ways heavy on my mind, I do Christmas stuff as a fun activity, much like others go golfing for relaxation. Yes, Christmas helps me cope in a pressure filled world.

All the time...I don't want to rush my life away, but during high stress periods, I find happiness thinking of how I'll decorate the next time around and surfing the web for special serving pieces. I picked up a vintage knee hugger pixie elf yesterday and was thinking where it will fit in with next season's decor. So, yeah, I'm with you on that dream of Christmas!

Christmas music relaxes me unlike any other music, when I do stress I do think of what I will be doing around the holidays, or sing or whistle a Christmas song.

I definitely relate to that. I dread the summer coming every year here in Texas.

I listen to Christmas music all year. It helps calm stress, helps me concentrate when I'm reading, and I usually have some soft, instrumental Christmas music for sleeping. I've tried classical music for keeping my mind from wondering all over the place, but nothing works for me like Christmas music.

I pull out a Christmas movie or something I recorded on the DVR for those times your talking about, Christmas Addict.

Oh yeah, and this place is great for all the above also!

I would agree, its the one time of the year I can really relax and love every minute of being home with the family, going to church seeing friends etc!
