Combining Christmas Cards with Birth Announcements?

Hi everyone! I'm actually starting to look at stationary for this upcoming holiday season, but I was wondering if I should simply combine this years Christmas card with our baby girls birth announcement?

I'm due October 27th and I was wondering if that's too early to combine the birth announcement with our family's annual Christmas card? I'm thinking we'd send it out during the last week of November. Is that waiting too long to send out a birth announcement/too early for a Christmas Card?

Your opinions matter!!

I would do both separately, but GEESH, stamps are expensive! LOL, I'm trying to see if anyone thinks it would be in bad taste to just combine the two things? I think we'd include a picture of the whole family and put a little note about how our family is celebrating this holiday season with a new family member. I dunno...any suggestions would be helpful!

I've actually seen this done before, and I thought it was very neat. What better time for a birth announcement than Christmas? I think that if your baby is due in October, and you sent your announcements in November, it would be OK. Certainly not too early for a Christmas card; I have gotten them earlier. And it's pretty timely for the October baby too; that is, if you can wait that long to make the announcement. I think I'd be too excited!

I also think it's cool that you're making your baby's birth announcement during the Christmas holidays....which is the anniversary of the greatest of all birth announcements. It would be neat if you could find some stationery with angels on it for your announcements!

i think it's a fabulous idea, but i wouldn't wait until the end of november, i'd say mid november would be fine, once your daughter was a couple of weeks old.

it's a really original idea so go for it!

I think the combo idea is great. Two bits of good cheer in one card!

We sent out DD's birth announcement with her 1 month picture on it, so your Christmas Card/Birth Announcement would be around that same time. I'd mail them out on Black Friday!

I agree with every one else, but I must say, in the Netherlands, it's more or less custom to send out the birth announcements really the day(s) after the child is born, so here I don't think anyone would wait up to a month to sent out the cards. But i guess this depends on customs and what you want to do, I think combining it is a great idea

We were actually contemplating sending out our movement notice with our Christmas cards, but I don't know if it can wait that long, since we move in september...
