You're nuts. I always watch Die Hard by the glow of the tree. It gives me that Christmas feeling. What's not to like? Bruce, crashing the corporate Christmas party to reconcile with his estranged wife ends up having to defend her life with his bare hands....and bare feet...against terrorists who just want, gasp!, money.

What's not Christmasy about that?

Every time I hear Bruce yell Yiiiiiiiipppppppeeeeeekaaaaaayyyyyyyyyaaaaa! I think Christmas.

In fact, come to think of it. every Bruce Willis movie known to man is a Christmas movie. I get all teary just thinking about them.

About the only movie he wasn't in that he should have been in that SHOULD be considered a Christmas movie is Tombstone.

Another Christmas classic. I got that one for Christmas -- what was it? -- 1998?

What a beautiful film.

Every time I hear "I'm your huckleberry!" for some reason I think of eggnog, mistletoe and gingerbread.

Not sure what that is....

Ok, getting serious now:

White Christmas is not a Christmas movie.

Gee, I Wish I Was Back in the Army
The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing
Coreography
Count Your Blessings
Sisters
Mr. Bones?!!!

Nothing Christmasy about any of those songs. In fact, if it weren't for the movie title and the lead song, White Christmas, which was written by a white American Jew who didn't even celebrate Christmas, there'd be no Christmas in it at all.

A musical, yes. A Christmas tradition to watch at Christmastime, yes.

A Christmas movie?

No.

Anne of Green Gables/Avonea/Wherever Else She is From

is NOT a Christmas movie.

Even though my daughters insist that it is a Christmas tradition.

Heck, it's not even a movie. It's more like a PBS special, isn't it?

If its a movie thats traditionally watched at Christmas, doesn't that make it a Christmas movie? Did I just open a box of worms on myself?

I love White Christmas, I have always thought about it as a Christmas movie, and when I first saw this post, I thought I was gonna break the no fighting rule.
But after thinking about it, I agree with you. The only Christmas song is (as you said) White Christmas. The movie isn't about Christmas, it just takes place during Christmas.

The first movie that pops into my head on this subject is Trading Places. Takes place during Christmas, but that's about it. In fact it goes on into the New Year. I love the movie, but I can't call it a Christmas movie.
