Snowflake Snow expected next month

It said on the radio yesterday we (in uk) could expect to see snow as early as October! I know some european countries have snow that lasts from oct to jan/feb but it is so unusual here in the uk.
When do you usually expect to get snow (if you ever do) in your part of the world?

hi there yes seen that to
omg another winter like last winter
but at least if we have seen it. Wood everyone else have seen it to ?? then the road people and others might be better prepared
For i dont no about you guys but we run out of grit and niebours had to get together and get some fine stones
I really dont no why we cant cope . when other counties that have snow half the year can keep the roads and airports, schools all open . a inch of snow and this country comes to a stand still

I havent heard much about snow here on the East Coast in the US. We normally get snow from December - March. I would like to have a few little snow falls before Christmas . I like snow but do not like huge storms where we are stuck in the house for days!

In my area of New England, we see the most snow from December through March---but it sometimes snows in November, and we've seen a few bad storms in April. (I remember one year the opening day at Fenway was snowed out.) This is the time of year the almanacs are published, and some reports say that the almanacs are calling for a cold and snowy winter here due to La Nina. I hope they're wrong. We had enough snow last winter to last us through this winter!

I'm in the U.S Heartland (central Illinois) and we usually get our first snowfall sometime around late November - although every once in a while we get it earlier than that. And the snow is usually pretty well gone by early March.
