Here in Pa, my father-in-law said in the hospital, in our city where he works, said it shook the hospital so bad that he almost fell out of his chair!

I felt it here..about 20 minutes outside of Baltimore 40 minutes from DC. I was on the 2nd floor at work.. in the bathroom actually. I thought something hit the into the building but it didnt stop for probably 30 seconds..felt longer though. I ran out and the 2 girls I work with were running out the door..they left me! It was very scary... felt like our building was swaying... sprinkler sytems in the drop ceiling were knocked loose and the drawers on our desk flung open.. hope I never have to expierence that again!

My son Bruce's stint in Pa as a camp counsellor finished as of yesterday so today he and a friend started their 2 weeks of travelling about before they fly home.

No sooner did they get off the bus in DC than the earthquake hit; he assured me it was purely coincidental!!!!

Spoke with my family that lives in Baltimore a little after 4. My aunt is a teacher and step-grandmother is a retired teacher. They evacuated the schools there and my step-grandmother had things falling off of her walls. My step-aunt said the shaking was pretty and it was scary for a little while, but they are all okay - thank goodness. Sounds like - according to our local news here that there is some minor damage to some of the buildings in DC. I still haven't heard of any real injuries. Thank goodness.

I was blissfully unaware! My neighbor was mowing the grass and I was vacuuming so I didn't notice! My mom works about 3 blocks from my house and called me frantic, saying her whole building shook. My husband said the same thing and my friend was home from work, in the same town as me, and said her whole house shook, too! Thankfully we felt nothing!

Lived in Cali for 23 years and I kind of got used to them. But I'm weird like that. I hope all of our east coast MMC families are ok and no one was hurt or displaced.

I was trying to think of something funny about the quake and politicians, but nothing came to mind...
