Help...I'm losing it

I don't know what happened, but I'm losing my Christmas spirit. Ever since the Saturday after Thanksgiving, I've been slowly losing a little bit of it every day. I've tried Christmas music, eggnog, decorating but it's not coming back. Any ideas??????

Help...I'm losing it

You've got the pre Christmas blues ....

I always get in the spirit with my tree. Turn the lights off, the tree on, listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and just relax.

Maybe you're trying to hard. Don't look for the spirit of Christmas, just let it happen. My partner does the christmas cards & bakes cookies to get into the mood.

I think Vegas Guy is on to something. I also noticed this week having sort of the blues. I havent been able to get the rest of my decorating done and have no energy at all. I am really good in the morning but by afternoon it wanes.

I think we get all excited about Thanksgiving, the food and all our family and friends...we do all the decorating and then when the weekend is over then it is back to 'normal' life again. The high is gone. Just keep telling yourself its all gonna happen again very soon and think of Christmas's past and try to find that magic again.

But also like Vegas Guy said, dont push it too hard. If you arent feeling it, thats ok. I bet it will come back to you soon!!

Have a listen to this great Christmas classic as sung by the pig himself: http://www.blueyze.com/bluechristmas.html Then, watch Santa Claus live, which starts tomorrow, on this page: http://www.santaclauslive.com/main.p...ieli=eng&pid=1

May not be a cure, but relaxing can't hurt. The logistics of Christmas often gets the wife down. Getting just the perfect thing drives her crazy. I tried to explain that most people understand that a gift, whatever it is, is an expression of love, not a measurement of it. We're not looking for a gift that changes our lives for the better, just one that says you care for us enough to spend a bazillion dollars. Darn, I was on a roll until that last part! 8)

Once about every week I find myself mentally blocking out the Christmas stuff and playing some of my favorite non-Christmas music for a few hours. When I'm done with that, it's like starting the season over again. I just rewired my sub/amp yesterday and I'm "testing" it out with some Creedence. That will probably be Trans Siberian Orchestra within an hour, though.

Yes! I did that just today. Blasted everything from Jimi to John Denver. Nice change. Now I am back on Christmas Broadband and listening to my all time fav, Little Drummer Boy.

I'm so sorry you're not in the mood. Do you have snow where you're at? I don't ......It'll come to you. Don't push it, though. Everyone here has some great advice. Try some of their suggestions.

Do you even have a remedy that doesn't end with a heap of eggnog?

SORRY:(

I AM SO SORRY THAT YOU FEEL THAT WAY. I WORK WITH A BUNCH OF SCROOGES, AND IT IS HARD FOR ME TO BE EXCITED ABOUT CHRISTMAS AT WORK. I CAN'T EVEN PLAY CHRISTMAS MUSIC YET. THEY ALL SAY THAT IT IS WAY TOO EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS. TRY NOT TO PUSH IT, THE SPIRIT WILL COME BACK TO YOU, I PROMISE!
