Shaping up for Christmas

I was wondering if anyone else is trying to lose weight and/or improve their fitness in time for this year's holiday season. If so, what are you doing?

I am just trying to eat more healthily and not snack so much, as well as trying to do some form of exercise every day.

My motivation is buying a really nice outfit, or two, for Christmas parties.

I hope I posted this in the right section. Looking forward to hearing from you

I am trying to lose weight as well, not just for the holidays, but because of having a baby recently. I need to shed some pounds from him. I am trying to do some form of exercise everyday as well and we're trying to eat better too. We've been eating at home more, which helps and I've been trying to snack less as well, but I've been finding that hard - especially when I'm late waiting for my little one to eat one more time before going to bed and I get hungry. Hopefully I can get better with this!

Yep, I am. I'm watching what I eat/how much I snack and exercising. I'm not really trying for weight necessarily, just toning up. But I wouldn't mind some weight coming off either.

You don't have to stop snacking just watch what your snacking on. A lot of doctors and personal trainers will say you should eat around 6 times a day to speed up you metabolism. 3 full meals and 3 snacks. It's all about the food you eat and portion control.

I am more than anything trying to tone up too. I feel like that is the biggest challenge after a baby is trying to tone up.

This is very true! I guess I shouldn't have said that I need to quit snacking - it's the stuff I am snacking on. I find mysef eating ice cream and snacks that are empty calories. That is my problem. Thanks for the advice!

Yes, a very good point. My problem is that I tend to snack on the wrong things, and for the wrong reason (habit rather than hunger). I try to have three meals and two snacks, mid-morning and mid-afternoon. I don't tend to eat after my evening meal. I'm trying to be prepared and have my snack before I get very hungry as if I leave it too long I end up just grabbing something from the cupboard rather than making something healthy!

I have exactly the same problem. I've found that if I prepare something healthy before I feel desperately hungry then it's easier to make a healthy choice, if I leave it too long I just don't have the patience and I really crave something unhealthy. It's silly because I normally end up feeling worse after eating the junk food!

I'm trying to tone up too, I've already lost some weight but now I feel all saggy! I've been trying quite a good DVD but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to mention the name on here due to the forum rules?
