That was the writing prompt we gave to two of my Freshman English Class (special needs). The looks that they gave me were priceless and then they all chimed in "You've got to be kidding, right?" I said no and I told them to persuade me to either "I believe in Santa" or "I don't believe in Santa". I can hardly wait to read their papers on this. Of course I told them that I believed in Santa and that I could prove that he is real. Again they were baffled. Some days I trully love my job!!!!

Oh I believe too! But of course high school kids don't think its cool to believe in Santa. They see the commercialism side of it or they don't see the spirit of Christmas. But one day they will hear the sound of the bell again. I think we all go through it. But thank you for sharing!

I was raised in a church that acknowledged saints, so I know for a fact St. Nicholas is a real person--and I totally believe in the spirit of Santa. Never stopped. Funny--my "honorary granddaughter's" mother decided when Mel was born that she'd teach her that Santa was just pretend and that presents come from the family. And last year, when Mel was talking about Santa, her mom explained that he wasn't real (Mel was four at the time, BTW). Mel looked at her like her mother had lost her mind and said "Mommy, you're confused". I bet those essays will be pretty cool!
