Our first Christmas party is on the 9th. It's for the alumni of my husbands fraternity and their families. It should be fun.

Dom...you've got some decorations up, right? Hey...that's more than some people! If you still want to do more...put up one decoration each day. It's a small thing, but your neighbors might enjoy seeing what new thing you put up.

I think that maybe we build up the Christmas season too much and then there's no way it can come close to what we've built up in our minds.

The other possibility is that maybe you are already having the post-Christmas blues. I find that happens to me sometimes...I know it's not too long before the season is over, so I start to get upset about that early. So rather than just enjoy the time I have for Christmas, I am too busy being upset that it's over soon.

Anyways...my point is that maybe you guys just need to stop worrying and start trying to remember the things that make the season wonderful...start focusing on that.

Sorry if I sound preachy...I just hate to see you guys losing your spirit already!
To an extent, everything you said pertains to my mindset. I don't think I'll put everything I wanted to up, but I still have one tree I need to put up and maybe a few more strands of lights outside. There has just been a lot of crap happening around me and it doesn't seem like anyone is happy. It's so bad that it almost seems inappropriate to be celebratory and cheerful.

Dom what I have found is that my Christmas cheer tends to make other people happy. They always smile and get a bit of a laugh when they see my minitree on my desk or when I play the Christmas music. I mean...I don't know what all these people have going on, but you could always listen to Christmas music with headphones on if you think it would bother them, or just be a bit Christmasy on the down-low.

I am feeling very down this afternoon and have to agree with what Dom said earlier. The people around me are bringing me down. My spirit is all but gone today, I am trying but my work environment is making it almost impossible to be positive and my grandfathers health taking a turn for the worse is turning this into a true blue Christmas.

I did just come in though and plug in the tree, my Santa Minnie Mouse and my motion light Happy Holidays sign, poured me a glass of nog (with a little extra *wink*) and put my Charlie Brown Christmas DVD on and hopefully after I hear Linus's Christmas speech I will feel better.

Now I am just aggravated! We drive to the nearest Walmart to get our Christmas Cards made ONLY to find out their machine is down and they are not sure when it will be fixed. Fought that crowd and stood in line mind you, ONLY to leave empty handed. *sigh*

There is another Walmart in my hometown that is about the same distance that I guess we are gonna try tomorrow nite. Since we picked out what background we want I think I am gonna just email the picture to them and call tomorrow and check to make sure they got it and see if they can get them ready. And pray they dont mess them up.

If you do a lot of this kind of stuff, you can always buy yourself a photo printer. Some really decent ones can be had for $100 and less. I have an already outdated HP that can print 4x6s at near if not at commercial quality.

Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck... especially your grandfather's health.
