Alton Brown/Good Eats Roast Turkey

hey guys,

a few years ago someone on here and I got into a big discussion about how much we loved Alton Brown's roasted turkey recipe. I literally use it every single year.

I cannot for the life of me remember who that was.

Anyone here a fan of Alton Brown and his roasted turkey recipe?

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/a...ipe/index.html

It's basically brined and then cooked on really high heat for a little while to seal in the juices. Then it's roasted at 350 until it hits a certain temperature (measured with a probe thermometer). It's an amazing recipe.

I love watching his shows especially the Thanksgiving and Christmas episodes!

I did cook a turkey one year and cooked it the way he did. That was a long time ago but it came out good!

I swear, every time people taste it they tell me it's the best turkey they've ever had. Since it's not my recipe I can brag on it a lot. I love Alton Brown so much!

This is not to be confused with his outdoor, deep frying turkey episode.

I like all the holiday episodes but that one gets me laughing each year. I think he goes a tad to far creating that whole contraption to put the turkey in the fire. I get his point but that was just dramatics for TV.

I'm a Alton Brown fan, been watching Good Eats since it first went on air, the new Good Eats 3 cookbook is going on my wishlist to Santa this year
Kinda sad that no more new episodes are being made, his show and Emeril's show were the only things I watched on that network.

Loved the deep fried turkey episode too, and that roast turkey recipe looks awesome!

You guys aren't kidding about that contraption for making the fried turkey. hah hah. It's really hysterical.

It was something like this, right?

I heard about his new book. I "liked" his page on FB and it gives some info about his book tour. I am hoping he comes through Knoxville!!

Thank you for posting this recipe. This is the turkey I'm going to cook this year. I've never had a brined one before. It sounds awesome!
