I'm currently spotifying Mr Buble's new offering. Pretty good but I prefer Bing or Frank!

The shallow end of the pool is too crowded. We have to dive deep, no comfort zone!

So much recorded Christmas music (most overlooked), so little time! CDs must be explored! Vinyl must be mined! The languished must be set free! We must press on! The show ("Mistletoe Mix") must go on! We must fight the Clear Channel & Cumilus sting of stale! No Yule tune left behind!

Wrong set of forums for all that here I know (85% prefer traditional Christmas music) but I do all one REAL Christmas music fan can to promote discovery!

Agreed but for a new album Mr. Buble's isn't bad.

The challenge here is to not let the new ones (especially the good ones like Buble's) slip into the past forgotten! Saves work for later generations! It takes a very strong product to knock another one from the top 100 Christmas tunes.

Some new ones find a niche following much like the discovered gems from the past. Other than that big record companies and commercial broadcast radio conditions (cons) the casual listener as to what songs "say Christmas". Sadly, it works.

Even Captain Kangaroo is pushed aside when it comes to Christmas tunes. I can't imagine "Crackerjack Christmas" by the good Captain & Mr. Green Jeans not being in my play list each season. Guess their record company let them down on the promotion side, eh?
