My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
Do you and you family have any traditions where you go and look at lights every year?
Everyyear since I was a little girl, we've been going to a place here in my city called, "Holiday Lights on the Lake." It's 50+ acres of lights and truly amazing. It's very beautiful and I love doing it every year. This year was the first my daughter could really understand about the lights and she loved it. We actually just went tonight and she loved it.
When I was little, we would ride around to look at lights after our Christmas program at church. DH & I have done this a few times, but it's been a few years since we've done it. One year we went out on Christmas Eve with DD & DH's parents, with Christmas songs playing on the iPod while we rode all over town looking at lights. In some subdivisions, we could see into the homes where people were gathered around the dining room table enjoying their time together!

We go out looking a the Christmas lights in our town several times in the month of December. A cup of hot cocoa and a ride around town to look at the displays is the perfect way to spend a winter's evening and the Christmas season wouldn't be complete without doing that!
If we have the time, we drive to East Peoria and check out their Festival of Lights. It's definitely worth the hour drive - so amazing!
