Today for me and for many on MMC is the most magical day of the year, Christmas Eve. As I think back on the past nearly two years I have been a member of this wonderful site, this home, this place where I am actually welcomed, where all are welcomed, Christmas Eve takes on a whole new magic. A magic that really does last the whole year.
We are a family on this site, a Christmas family. While we may not agree on everything, we may like some members of the family better than others, we may come from all different backgrounds and places in the world, there is one constant, our hearts beat as one when it comes to Christmas.
Many of our family may have lost loved ones during the year or have loved ones who are sick and that is so difficult especially at Christmas. Please know that we are all here for you, in the Spirit of Christmas love.
Have a blessed and peaceful Christmas Eve and a very Merry and blessed Christmas, dear Christmas family from Wishbone, Clancy, Ivy, Smokey and I all send our hugs and love.
This is a part of one of my very favorite movies, The Bishops Wife, and I share it now with you in the hope that maybe you will find it speaks to you as it always does to me xo
"Tonight I want to tell you the story of an empty stocking.
Once upon a midnight clear, there was a child's cry, a blazing star hung over a stable, and wise men came with birthday gifts. We haven't forgotten that night down the centuries. We celebrate it with stars on Christmas trees, with the sound of bells, and with gifts.
But especially with gifts. You give me a book, I give you a tie. Aunt Martha has always wanted an orange squeezer and Uncle Henry can do with a new pipe. For we forget nobody, adult or child. All the stockings are filled, all that is, except one. And we have even forgotten to hang it up. The stocking for the child born in a manger. Its his birthday we're celebrating. Don't let us ever forget that.
Let us ask ourselves what He would wish for most. And then, let each put in his share, loving kindness, warm hearts, and a stretched out hand of tolerance. All the shinning gifts that make peace on earth."
