This is so well put, Minta.

Xmas - I couldn't agree with you more.

We took our big tree down at the end of January and I took my small tree in my bedroom down around the end of February. But I had had that one up since September! So only about 4 more months until we start seeing some Christmas things in stores!

Christmas Tree

Taking down the tree for me, too, is a very tragic day because I love to just sit and look at it. There is night we have nothing else on except for the tree. My daughter for days kept asking where the tree was and the Christmas lights. I can't wait until we can put up the tree again, just as the rest of you.

It will be here again before we know it!!!

This is why I keep a tiny tree lit up in my living room all year, decorated for every season/holiday! It's naked now... gotta get some more flowers for it!

I feel your pain, though! My real tree in the living room comes down mid-January, when the needles just won't stop falling. Always makes me sad! I leave my big tree in my bedroom until February, but I still miss it!

Just think - this time in 6 months, we'll be in the thick of it! Heck, the stores will be decked out with harvest decor in 2 or 3 months! Hang in there, and head to the mall to hunt for some Christmas clearance stuff tucked in the back of stores.. that always cheers me up!

I usually take the tree and decorations down on New Years day. Very depressing, however I'm thinking of putting them up a week earlier this year. I don't want them up too long because I like them to feel special when they're up. However I've come to the conclusion that four weeks isn't long enough.

Yes Jeff it is very sad taking it down. But just think. We are THAT much closer to putting it back up again. Leave something out to remind you of Christmas. That's what I do all year round. I have lights up in my office and when I need a fix I turn them on and play some Christmas music. I also have yankee Christmas candles with Christmas scents on hand. It will be here sooner then you know it. 4 more months to August. We just need to get that far! I'm with ya buddy!

Wow - you really kept yours up to the last this year! Our comes down the first couple of weeks into January because it makes me sad to look at the tree and think we have a whole long year to go before we get to celebrate Christmas again.

I'm always so sad the day we take it down - it's like a little piece of my joy goes into the boxes as well.

I'm thinking of getting one of those live hanging plants and putting clear lights on it. That way, if I get too lonely for Christmas I can turn them on, light a candle and play Christmas music. yeah.

snowberry (who thanks Jesus for reminding me to come visit MMC)
