Are we crazy?

So I found myself today running some errands in the pouring rain so I decided to plug my I phone into my car radio and started listening to pandora Christmas Radio and enjoying every minute of it .But then it begs the question are we all a little crazy here? Its the second week of May the trees are getting full of leaves, flowers are blooming, my garden is planted full of vegatables yet i'm still longing for a winter season that according to my wife its either way to early or way to late to be listening to Christmas music.Although for me the music brings back memories of holiday's gone by and good times with family some of which are also gone. And thoughts of my own kids who are growing up one of which is about to graduate form high school in a couple of weeks.I dont know maybe I am crazy but i'm glad I have all of you great people here to be crazy with me ! Merry Christmas !!!!

Nay I dont think so. To me that is a healthy and safe pick me up and stress reliever. Unforunately some people have to resort to alcohol or illegal drugs to make them feel better. For us we can pop in some well loved Christmas Music to achieve that result.
To those who think we are crazy for listening to Christmas music or watching Christmas movies year round stress themselves out for Christmas. Its sad that so many miss the true meaning.

If listening to Christmas music makes you feel better then listen away!

People would probably say we are crazy, however people ridicule what they don't understand. The other day I bought about 10 christmas songs off itunes and just last night I watched a Christmas movie. Is it any crazier than people who collect comic books? or buy 100's of pairs of shoes? or anything else that is outside the norm.

I just treated myself to another dose of the Merrypodcast Christmas Show in which members from all over the world offered greetings.

If you're crazy so am I, yet I think it's fine and dandy to listen to Christmas music whenever we want. If the songs or narrated stories please us, why is that any different than someone listening to Rap or Rock? If Christmas be our genre - let us listen to it proudly! I was a closet Christmas music lover years and years ago. I used to listen to it with headphones so nobody would know - now that's crazy! I was working out at the gym a few months ago not realizing there were three Christmas songs on my MP3 player - I managed to work around them and it made me smile. Go ahead - enjoy it!

Now, I must say, I'm certified! LOL!!! I think my wife does thinks I'm a little goofy every now or then, especially when it comes to Christmas. But, If she didn't love my ways, she wouldn't still be here!

I believe, that we all may have a little bit of that kid still left deep inside us, that makes us all admire Clark Griswold every year when we are decorating our own homes or sometimes have that feeling like Charlie Brown, when we are down and are searching in the world for the true meaning of Christmas to stay with us every day of our lives.

When people think I'm crazy for listening to Christmas music during the year, or the amount of lights I decorating my house with at Christmas, etc... , I just smile and then I think about that letter that was written by NewsmanFrancis Pharcellus Church, that he wrote to Virginia O'Hanlon in 1897. Here are two quotes from it that really make me smile inside:

"Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished."

No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.
