I usually out up everything Thanksgiving weekend since I always have a 4 day weekend. However, this year my tree and wreath are up, but nothing else. I am a full time grad student and I had a final paper due Thanksgiving weekend so I didn't have time to finish the house. I have one more paper due this weekend so hopefully I can squeeze out time to finish the house- its so weird to have my tree/wreath but nothing else done. My husband keeps trying to tell me that I am nuts since its not even December yet LOL- Who cares- I'm late!!!
Hey, at least I got my shopping done- Black Friday was good to my pockets!

We start the day after Thanksgiving. That day, after our Black Friday shopping and lunch out, we put up the tree, including lights and ornaments. Then on Saturday and Sunday, we usually do things such as hang more lights, buy some poinsettias for the table, and hang the stockings. We do outdoor lights either Sunday or the following Sunday, depending on the weather (occasionally we'll get some snow on Thanksgiving weekend).

We normally start decorating the evening of, or day after, Thanksgiving.
But, because we were in the process of moving last year, we couldn't decorate at all. Which was tough for me!
So, this year, I may start decorating earlier in Novemeber!! Can't wait!!!!
I think you should definately start earlier!!! Thanksgiving is just too late this year!!
If I host Thanksgiving this year for my family, I will start Thanksgiving night or the day after Thanksgiving! If one of my sisters hosts Thanksgiving, I will be starting the Thursday night or Friday afternoon before Thanksgiving! (Nov. 21st-22nd)
The Buckeye tree in the basement will go up, probably early November!
Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace & goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.
