Christmas Tree sometimes pets are the perfect gift.

hello, responding to question about pets. We have 3 dogs,5 cats, fish and my daughter 13 has a guinea pig that lives in her room. We have had hamsters, but they do not have a long life span and are not that fun to play with. Guinea pigs are adorable, they learn their names will sit and cuddle with you for hours and are quiet at night. As long as your son understands the danger dogs/cats pose to smaller animals, he will be fine. I have found that a child having a pet of their own, teaches them about responsibility. They have to feed/water,clean cage in order for pet to stay healthy. When my daughter,Kelly has her guinea pig out in her room, she knows that the door has to be shut so that the dogs cannot get in her room. We have not had any problems. Good luck with pet,i am sure if your son received a pet for Christmas,it would be his favorite gift ever.
