I agree because Thanksgiving is really just a single day thing. No one is sitting around all month thinking "Man, this is some Thanksgiving season I'm having here." Christmas however, is an entire season filled with special events, scents, sights, sounds, etc.
It's funny because at my house I put up Thanksgiving decor, but then I also put up Christmas decor the week before Thanksgiving and start phasing out the Thanksgiving stuff. My wife always says "Can it ever not be a holiday around here, do you always have to decorate for every one?! Can't we just have a plain house for once?" Her answers: "No, and yes I will decorate for every one, especially during the holidays, we can have a plain house from after Easter until Halloween starts in September.

LOL! As soon as the weather changes my Christmas gears kick in! I start off listening to instrumental Christmas music (listening to it right now lol)- after Thanksgiving its straight up Christmas carols. I am making my Christmas list (it takes me forever to figure out the perfect gift!) and look- I'm on the Christmas forum lol! Yeah, X-mas is my favorite, I give Halloween and Thanksgiving their due, but to me the entire cold season (not "winter", whenever it gets cold LOL)= CHRISTMAS PREP!!!

I usually start the day after Thangsgiving, but this year the Christmas village is going to be large, so I get to start Saturday .

November 1st is the start of Christmas music around our house, though I must admit to sneaking in a few songs here and there. On the first we will play many CDs in their entirety, and this year it seems only fitting to make the first holiday CD of the year an Andy Williams CD.

I start listening to Christmas music around May or June and then I take a 1 month break from the Christmas music in October so that poor Halloween doesn't get the shaft LOL. Well, that and so that I don't get too burnt out half way through the Christmas season. So, for now, no carols fill my hall (or car) and the Halloween decorations are up. But November 1st will be a totally different story!! Can't wait!

This is exactly how I am! The holidays are all one big happy time of family, food and friends and, for me, it "officially" starts on November 1st. Which means I've been listening to Christmas music and watching Christmas specials on the sly for a couple of weeks now. Come Thursday I come out of the Christmas closet!

I've been sneaking in the Christmas tunes for the past few weeks. I have to limit it so I don't burn myself out before December.

Pretty soon, it'll be Christmas movie time for me. Woohoo!

I've had to try hard not to cheat especially after joining MMC in September, christmas is all I can think about !

Think I will give in this weekend though ! Our 24hr christmas movie channel starts on Saturday so I will be watching my first holiday movies of the season then. Mucic wise well I will try to hold out till mid november. However I will be compiling my christmas playlists from next week so I'm all ready.

Naturally this will involve listening to the tracks while I put them together...........*cough* *cough*... cheating ......
