stocking ** All Aboard! It's a Christmas Train Story! **

The connection of Christmas to trains has no known origin other than Santa loves trains and continues to make them for the fun and pleasure of kids every Christmas. Today's trivia question and prize carries that same train theme -- and we'll see just who wins and how far they have to go to win!

Here's the prize, first of all:

The winner of this contest will receive a copy of The Christmas Train, a great new Christmas children's book for train affictionados of all ages. Best of all, it is a true story that carries a wonder lesson on Christmas giving. No boy -- and I mean, no boy of any age -- will be able to put down this beautifully illustrated book!

And here's the question you have to answer:

The Polar Express is a terrific Christmas story featuring the greatest Christmas train ride in the world. Unfortunately, it is just that...a story. Somewhere here on MMC is another story about a Christmas train -- a true story -- the talks about a Christmas train heading north out of Boston nearly 100 years ago. What was the story of that train and where was it going?

The first to post a correct answer and the link to where it is here on MMC wins this terrific book!

Have fun!

during the Depression era a little boy is getting an electric train & his Mother had bought a less expensive train for a boy down the street. so the story is about the boy learning to give & i assume it was going down the street to the other little boy>is that right?

Nope. Focus on this part

Somewhere here on MMC is another story about a Christmas train -- a true story -- the talks about a Christmas train heading north out of Boston nearly 100 years ago. What was the story of that train and where was it going?
The common denominator between these three stories -- The story of the book, The Polar Express and the story we reference above -- is the train. But that's it. We're looking for a story here on MMC that mentions a train sent at Christmastime out of Boston going northbound.

The story of that train is that it left Boston filled with supplies and medical personnel to help the Canadian city of Halifax in 1917 after a huge explosion decimated the city.
