The Best of Christmas Sitcoms
My Top Ten list would not be complete without:
All in the Family - Christmas at the Bunkers
Andy Griffith Christmas episode
Dick Van Dyke Christmas episode
Mary Tyler Moore 1st Christmas episode...
Remember when Black Friday was on Friday?
Imagine what will happen if the stores are allowed to stay open all night Christmas Eve until lunch time on Christmas Day! This year, more than 50,000 restaurants, bars, convenience stores and...
My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
Billy B - I think that in their hearts, deep down, most people do understand. Society tells us that Christmas MUST only be observed during a certain time of the year. But most people wish the spirit would continue. We know it does, at least here. What movie did someone say - . . . . " for a few hours a year we are the people we always hoped we would be " ???? Where is DVD Guy when I need him?
I played "The Yule Log". The fireplace is very, very nice. The songs are OK. But no natural woodburning (crackling) sounds, at least none that I can find. It also dosen't seem to loop. Overall a nice addition to my collection.
DVD Guy - What's the name of that snowfall video you have ?
You know - I guess I never thought about the video not having crackling sounds b/c of the music. It would be nice if it had crackling, wouldn't it? Hmmmm! I'm already starting to think about having my family over again on Dec. 30th for a cook out, just so we can eat in the basement & have this dvd playing! So cozy!! I kind of like that tradition!
You know - my routine every morning is to get out of bed, shower, make coffee & check the weather (weather.com) But look where you found me today, and yesterday, and... This place is a great way to start the day!!! I didn't feel like I was in a Christmas mood when I got out of bed this morning, but ya'll turned me around already & here I am...all Christmassy!
I started watching The Bells Of St. Mary's last night on dvd (since I've never seen it before, we had NO cable & NO internet last night...argh...but it's fixed today ) but I fell asleep darnit!! From what I saw (about an hour) it's a GREAT movie, but I just got too tired. I'll watch the ending this weekend, I hope!!!
I haven't been here in a long time, but I thought of it when I was listening to Christmas radio the other day. It doesn't take more than a little drop in temperature to get me into the Christmas spirit, whether that's real temp or AC enhanced!
It's so cool to come here and find others of like mind. My kids think I'm nuts, but as long as I'm not nuts all alone...
