Looks like Winter might come early this year

WOW!!! really wish i still lived up in Maine. Really shocked to see the lows dipping this low this early. this is not rare but still wow..

The Labor Day holiday is behind us. Kids are back in school. Football is back.
It seems only appropriate that a plunge of cool air also accompanies this shift in mindset toward fall, even if summer is still officially with us for a little more than two weeks.
A cold front will drop out of eastern Canada into the Northeast on Thursday. With high pressure centered over Pennsylvania, clear skies and light winds will send temperatures plummeting Friday

Lows in the 30s are possible away from the coast in Maine and New Hampshire, including Bangor, Caribou, and Concord.
Temperatures in the 30s are also a possible over much of Vermont, parts of western Massachusetts, far northwest Connecticut, and higher valley locations in the Adirondacks, Finger Lakes region, and far northern Pennsylvania.

Don't be surprised to see the first frost of the season in some of these locations.
Some of the notorious cold spots, including Clayton Lake, Maine, Saranac Lake, N.Y. and Bradford, Pa., may even see a freeze Friday morning.
(MAP: Average date of first freeze)
Get those warm jackets out for the bus stop! You may need also a light jacket in the afternoon in parts of the Northeast.

Friday's Highs

Highs will hold in the 60s Thursday in Buffalo, Albany, Boston and points north.
Friday, highs may only manage the low 70s in New York and Philadelphia, with 60s the rule over much of eastern New England.
This weekend, as the center of the high shifts offshore and a new cold front approaches, temperatures will warm a bit, particularly from New York City to Pittsburgh southward, where highs will top out in the upper 70s or 80s each da

Yesterday was warm and humid where I live and this morning ... Cool and Crisp. Such a big differance. Shut off the AC this morning and opened windows. May have to throw an extra blanket on the beds tonight

The Farmers Almanac and hagerstown Almanac have both predicted a very cold winter this year.

After keeping and eye over at http://www.mountwashington.org/ keep seeing the weather has been off and on and today they have a wind chill at 32 and below today so snow might hit North East before oct this year.

Also thanks for the comment

It looks like Fall will make an early appearance this year. I live in CT, and by Friday, it's going to be in the 50's when we wake up!

We have been told autumn may arrive late here. So far it's been warm although there has been some cool mornings. The weather is so unpredictable! I wonder what kind of winter we will have. Last winter was mostly mild with hardly any snow. I'd like some snow
