Destiny Child's version or Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and most re-makes by todays artists, those that are famous for being reality stars or winning talent shows, their renditions are poor, I will listen to most Christmas songs, but will turn it over if their songs are on.

Agreed. We have one local radio station that does Christmas music full-time during the season. Unfortunately, it is 99% contemporary, easy-listening bs. Thank goodness for MP3's.

I completely agree, I cannot stand contemporary Christmas music, I love Bing, Nat, and all the crooners, Ray Conniff and so on. Today's music doesn't sound as warm and joyous as the older stuff.

Though I like their music, whatever you do, STAY AWAY from their “A Christmas Present…and Past.” The original album was released in October 1967. You’ll notice that not a tune from it ever receives repetitive airplay during the season! What a block of cheese this stuff is! Certainly this is not a starting point to the band’s work or they would have never become popular!

Somebody made the poor judgment to re-issue the album to CD. All I can say is that you have to be a fan as committed as a facial tattoo to actually want this in your collection!

Record companies often push their artists to record seasonal offerings hoping to milk a little more from the cash cow. More often than not, these less from the heart efforts are lackluster at best and just plain awful at worst. In the above mentioned case, I believe it was all about the spiked eggnog.
This may sound strange but I actually like the Paul Revere Christmas album, I know my taste in music is quite different. I would love to add that and the Rotary Connection Christmas CD to my collection.

Bad Christmas Music

My mother is responsible for my "Christmas Addiction". She kept stacks of Christmas Albums and never needed much excuse to play them. We tended to acquire them indiscriminately, so there were some clunkers! One I remember was "Christmas with the Happy Crickets!"...it was a cheap knock-off of the Chipmunks....terrible, sped-up renditions of standards. fingernails on a blackboard!!

Lol, there’s plenty that I like that most folks give a failing mark! Not strange at all!

"Singing" along with Dominic's hee-haws always got a wonderful Daaaaad look from my kids as we drove along completing our seasonal shopping. The song gave me a great present every year that will be with me the rest of my days.

I don't really have a "worst album" but there's a few songs out there that I can't help but change the station when it comes on. That "Christmas Shoes" song is just..terrible, the story behind it is really touching but the music to it just..no, lol

I generally like all Christmas music. I tend to go more classic then contemporary. Although there are some new songs that I like. The one song I hate is the he Twelve Gifts of Christmas by Allan Sherman. I change it every time it comes on the radio. I listened to it one time to give it a chance. Yuck.
