Christmas Controversy & Opinion Presented by Defend Christmas, this forum covers the difficult topics of the season -- from the famed and fabled War on Christmas to church and state debates to using the star or the angel on the Christmas tree. Modern Christmas celebration has it's complications -- schools are divided, some Christmas light displays are too much, some even argue that it is better to call it a "holiday" tree. Some merchants won't even say "Merry Christmas"! Where there is controversy, there is insanity. Even in Christmas.

Clay Aiken Caught Up in Christmas Concert Controversy
American Idol star Clay Aiken is caught up in a gay controversy after parishioners at a church where he is set to perform a Christmas concert demanded assurances the singer isn’t a homosexual.Aiken’s sexuality hit the headlines last year when a former Green Beret soldier revealed he had spent a night of passion with [...]
This just kills me. Who cares if he is gay? What does being gay have to do with an ability to perform a Christmas concert? The very people who cry discrimination over not being about to say "Christmas" in a public school shouldn't be discriminating like this. Amazing.
Really, who cares if he's gay?? Being gay doesn't stop you from singing a song does it??? Being gay doesn't stop you from wishing someone a Merry Christmas or giving them a gift does it? Because that's what he's doing by singing in that concert; he's giving that congergation the gift of song and high praise. It would behoove all who call themselves compassionate and caring to disregard what the young man does in the privacy of his personal life and let the man belt out a song.
Just for the record I too, am not a Clay Aiken fan.
