Christmas DecorationsChristmas is a hands-on art. From the lights we put on the house to the decorations we put on the tree to the great foods we eat in the process, Christmas is a time of doing -- and this is the place we gather to talk, plan and share.

My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
I always buy the chocolate ones but this year I want to buy one that can be reused the Christmas Loft website has a singing advent calender that I have been drooling over, but we'll see. They have nice wooden ones at Target for around $25 they dont sing but you can fill them w/ your own treats and candy that is actually edible.
I buy the chocolate ones every year for my daughter, niece and nephew. I also have a Disney cloth one and a Santa snowman one. You are right about the Chocolate though, hit or miss. The kids don't seem to car much. I would love to find a Lindt one though! Then I would buy one for myself as well!
Always get the chocolate ones yummy also have a mini musical Christmas Tree which plays "On The Twelve Day Of Christmas" each day we open a little box and inside is a little decoration that you put on the tree.
My favorites are the German ones with wonderful scenes and glitter decorations. The kind my mother gave us when we were small. Since we always have one in our house and give one to each of our two nieces, my sister and some special friends I order them from the printer in Germany. They have a wide selection. I like to place our order in July to make sure the ones I want are in stock. The shipping is a bit high but the calender prices are very good so I order enough for a couple of years and it works out to be quite reasonable. The on line catalog is worth checking out just to see the artwork: http://www.sellmer-verlag.de/shop2/index.html
