I'm new and Annual Cmas Letters

Hello, everyone! I'm new from Texas and would like to hear about your clever and unique Christmas letters you've either sent or received in years past. I HATE long Holiday letters where I have to read about vacations I could never afford to take or paragraph after paragraph about the family dog...so I always try to recap the year as painlessly as possible. Here's what I wrote last year, feel free to modify and use for yourself, but please someone PM me with a good idea that I can use this year. I've got a tough act to follow...

Another great year gone by so fast
It's hard to believe the holidays are here at last!
First Name Middle Name, just months shy of teen
On soccer, guitar-playing & video games, he is always keen
First Name Middle Name, now a sweet girl of nine
Drawing, gymnastics and playing with friends is how she passes the time
First Name's still with Company and did some traveling this year
Frist name started grad school and still loves to volunteer
Hope your year was wonderful and we send you all good cheer
From all of us to each of you
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I like it. I think it sounds fine. I usually make my holiday letters short and sweet too. It's nice to write up a little something so everyone knows how life has been going. It's so easy to lose touch when you get busy with life in general.

The best, and funniest, Christmas letter I ever received was written by the family dog. It was a hilarious take on the family's activities seen through the eyes of their little yorkshire terrier. They even signed it with a paw print! Too cute.

I like it.

I usually get a Christmas letter from an old friend that I haven't seen in years and after reading about her life, my life seems soooooooooooo dull that I can hardly make myself write a letter. Though one year I was able to insert my two new baby grandson's picture in since they were both born in Nov. That was one of my best letters.

This year it will probably read, hi everyone, hubby still working two jobs, I'm still taking care of the home, no vacations but praise the Lord we are both healthy in body, mind and spirit. But we did get a sweet new grand daughter this year so I can add a picture of her.

It will be short and to the point. LOL

I've never written a christmas letter either. We send very few cards that go out of state. MOst of our cards are sent locally, and they all know how our life is going. I don't usually receive many christmas letters One of my cousins lives in Maine, and his wife sends a letter every year. I think thats the only one we get.
