Hanging Lights in windows...ne1 have a secret???

I'm sure this question has been asked before....but im gonna ask it again. What is everyones secret for hanging lights in their windows? I used those little suction cups and they always fall down and end up looking really bad because they aren't straight. What does everyone else do? I want to make them look really straight!!! thanks for ur help.......

Good question - I'm looking forward to a practical answer for this one too! I also use suction hooks, which, I agree, suck - or rather don't!!!!

Look through the 3m Command Adhesive products that come with hooks. I've had very good luck with those, although I've never tried them on glass that I can remember.

I use suction cups on glass and they work ok. I get the occational fall off but it's pretty good. I find the best way of getting them to stick is to make sure they're rather 'moist' (a finger dipped in a galls of water and wiped all over the cup is good) and plonk them on with good bit of effort!!!

I've got mine on double glazing, so I guess that stays the same temp which might help...

Okay, I've had new windows installed since last year so you think they'll work better due to the constant temperature??

I'll give it another shot then!

I also use the suction cups and agree they have a tendacy to fall off. When they do that I break out the scotch tape and create a small O with the tape and place it inside the suction cup and then onto the window it goes. They stay put.

We use the 3M adhesive hooks (the kind that you pull the tab and remove them) and instead of putting them actually on the glass, we affix them to the inside of the window framing and string the lights through them there. It works really well for us.

I just put lights around my picture window but since it's so old, I just use push pins to hold the lights up. Now my dining room window is newer, it's vinyl so I have used the little clips that hold my screens in (the window is two that roll out) and a little scotch tape and it holds the lights.
Put lights up around my kitchen cabins and I take masking tape fold it over the light string so that both sticky sides meet, then I take a tack and push it through the tape and stick it on the inside of the moulding. This works very well.

Give it a go! As long as you don't get too much condensation on them, the should be ok.

My suction cup light holders have been doing the job for over two weeks now and I've not had one faller so far...
