My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
Tonight my children swear they have witnessed a Christmas miracle that falls just short of a virgin birth in scope but is every bit a wonder as Santa's trip around the world in one night: the old man got the Christmas lights up.
Yep, and it ain't even Thanksgiving.
Not only that, I got ALL four strands up. That's 100 lights, folks. (Don't try this at home, I'm a professional).
Also, I purchased our first inflatable -- an 8-foot Santa and we put him on top of our trailer (cleverly out of reach of the swarms of kids who would surely molest him on the way to and from school thus rendering him useless even before Thanksgiving gets here).
That way, when people see him up there all lit up at night they can say "Hey, Mister -- Santa's on your roof! Better get the kids to bed!".
Ha. Good for another five years now...
Jeff <-- Loves Christmas, not the handiest when it comes to festive exterior illumination
Perhaps I should've called in the professionals earlier as my husband and dad were drilling a hole through my front door to put the wire through for the lights. That took them a while and when it was completed my husband broke the wire so now that'll have to be fixed before I can switch them on!! (talk about cowboys)
Great job! I'm looking forward to some pictures. We're almost done. We've got the outside done (no light strands because this house is most inadequate in it's outdoor outlets). All we have left to do inside is the Christmas tree. We have to wait until after Thanksgiving for that so we can fit the people in the house to eat!
