assuming you dont have kids its easier to spend xmas elsewhere. Personally i couldnt spend xmas away from home, not even at other family members, it just wouldnt feel the same, you know.

We stay home for Christmas. Before we had kids we would go to our families on Christmas day but since we had kids we stay home and anyone in the family is welcomed to join us in our home which a few do on Christmas Day.

As I said before we go to my mom's house so my youngest sister can open her gifts. She has a mental disorder, & can't adjust to change . So every Christmas Eve she stays with my mom & they watch Christmas shows together, then Christmas morning we go there so she can open here gifts.
