What Is Your Best Easter Memory ?

I was just wondering what your best memory is of one special Easter. mine has to be when my birthday fell on Easter Sunday. That Easter the Easter bunny put my basket in the basement. it was on the seat of my new bike that I got.
So I was wondering if you have any special memories .

Unfortunately, Easter does not stick out in my mind like Christmas does. Like most holidays, I know we usually spent Easter at grandma's house.

I do remember basic things like coloring eggs and Easter egg hunts. I remember that the Easter Bunny always hid at least one egg in everyone's shoe and he always hid eggs in these little ornamental handles at the bottom of my grandmother's old fashioned floor model console tv.

Oh, and I also remember that my grandmother would use the Easter eggs to finish her potato salad and make deviled eggs for Easter lunch so often times our Easter egg hunt was punctuated with grandma urging us on with "hurry up, I need those eggs!" Not to mention the fact that the potato salad and deviled eggs were always festive looking since the dye always seemed to soak through to the egg underneath!

The only thing I can recall as a kid is finding our baskets, coloring eggs. And the neighbor lady Joan always loved to decorate for every Holiday. And she would hide eggs in our yard for me and my sibilings to find. But Easter doesn't carry as many memories for me like Christmas does. I mean we usually have a nice dinner, color some eggs but that's about the extent of it.

In our house it was finding of the easter eggs that the "easter bunny" (aka my dad) hid. My dad always forgot where one was hidden and we had to really search for it so we didn't get stuck with a smelly egg in a couple of days.

I can't think of any one year that sticks out, but I remember the thrill of walking down the stairs to find our Easter baskets lined up on the back of the couch, filled with candy...reese's eggs, malted milk eggs, jelly beans & of course the big chocolate bunny! I always loved that big milk chocolate bunny! I do remember one year for some reason we went to my Aunt & Uncles house (Moms sister) in Dayton for Easter. I'm not sure why we went there (we had our own immediate large family at home?) but I remember that is when I learned about "if it rains on Easter, it's going to rain for the next 7 Sundays" & it was raining that day! I remember hunting for eggs in their back yard.

I know it's a great memory. I have 2 adult sons who I used to dress in sailor outfits when they were small, and they were sooo cute.
