Christmas Controversy & Opinion Visit Defend Christmas.com Presented by Defend Christmas, this forum covers the difficult topics of the season -- from the famed and fabled War on Christmas to church and state debates to using the star or the angel on the Christmas tree. Modern Christmas celebration has it's complications -- schools are divided, some Christmas light displays are too much, some even argue that it is better to call it a "holiday" tree. Some merchants won't even say "Merry Christmas"! Where there is controversy, there is insanity. Even in Christmas.

I agree if people put as much energy into things that really mattered ie. poverty, stopping war, healthcare. Instead of things that don't like gay marriage, "Terrorism", religion. We could get alot more accomplished.

The schools and government can call the holiday whatever they like but I will always say Merry Christmas.

I agree, less complaining and more action towards things that really need addressing! People just get into an uproar about things like this for attention. He must be pretty insecure if he thinks a few Christmas carols are going to completely change his son's beliefs.

Some people just need more eggnog and relax

While I respect his right to raise his child with their beliefs, he cannot impose them upon the other students in his sons class.

Teaching tolerance, respect and diversity begins at home.

Boy those religious spirits can be nasty, even Jesus had to deal with them.

My grandchildren are home schooled because my daughters do not like what is being taught in the schools and what isn't being taught, so people do have that option.

But it is very hard for this movement to take Christ out of Christmas gets stronger every year. Thank goodness Christmas is in the heart and that can not be taken away.
