Don't kick yourself too hard, D-G, if I had known that the toys I played with would have been considered "hot e-Bay items", collectibles or antiques, I would have hung onto them.

Once upon a time, I gave my NOVA lights that were hand-me-downs to my cousin for her classroom. Could have kept them or sold them for a pretty penny.

And I remember my brother selling his comic book collection for a trumpet. He played the trumpet well, but the comic books he had would have given him a brass band if he had held onto them until now. They were in mint condition.

Greg - when I was little I had plans to buy one train every pay-day so I could give them to my son on his 10th birthday.

I never bought one. The closest I came to a set was with the Polar Express type trains on a simple oval track.

I always loved trains.

It's never too late. Even if he is "all grown-up", I'll bet he would still enjoy a train!

Well, now, how many of us haven't done something like that? OR, worse, how many of us have held onto something thinking it would be valuable but, alas, only to discover that it isn't and never will be?

Here's hoping you find one that you don't have to break the bank for!!

My husband had a train collection that went all the way down to his great grandfather, & he sold then 3 years ago, only now to be kicking himself in the butt.
So I guess we all are a bunch of idiots here.
