2006 Board Changes/Improvements -- Feedback needed

Hi folks,

We're working a some changes, upgrades and new features for this board over the next two months. Besides a reorganization of our forums and topics -- plus a couple of new "skins" to choose from -- what are the changes you'd like most to see?

Jeff

We already do work with The Xmas Place. But these boards have a place and importance too, so we'll stick with them.

I didn't know until tonight that you had a whole 'nother Christmas chat site. I visited The Xmas Place. Recognized a lot of folks but I am fiercely loyal to this site. I like the Chat Room because it takes the one liner posts away from the main site. Seems like a waste of a post to just say, "LOL." You're doing a fine job here. During the off months, when traffic is slower, I'd like the snowflakes to return. If you could fit in a small radio that could stream Christmas music while we chatted and would be available only to those who had the capability to handle it, that would be ultra cool. Of course, I guess I could just keep a 2nd window open to take care of that. 8)

Black print? It's not black it is white. Are you seeing black? That would be awful...

Well, I just downloaded Mozilla Firefox and sure enough, the text comes out black. I tried to find the settings that would change this but had no luck. Try going to Tools, Options, clicking on the Content icon and fiddling with the colors there. I managed to get the background to change to white and the text remains black so it is readable, but you might want to wear sunglasses. 8) 8) 8)

It wasn't in the style sheet, it was in the template file under a very obscure setting that is only triggered when the default settings are not accessible. Weird, never seen anything like it. I changed it to white. I'll download Firefox (not my favorite browser) and check it out.

Yeah, I've been tinkering with it. Still can't figure out why it posts black. I'm hoping the new lighter template we're working on looks better in FF -- and I don't dislike FF, I just have to see the world more through IE because still more than 90% of visitors use it -- please be patient.
