I AM TIRED OF OPEC - Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less.

American Solutions is running a petition drive

http://www.americansolutions.com/act...b-346a1e096659

everyone please sign the petition the more signatures the better when they take this to Washington. There is a person thats really pushing this has some power in Washington. This has a chance, and its the only way we are really gonna get gas prices down. So if your tired of OPEC digging in you pocket sign it, if you wanna stop funding terrorism sign it, if you wanna grow the American economy sign it. I could come up with alot more reasons but, i am sleepy.

Thanks in advance

Opec is not the problem. Congress is the problem.

Them not letting companies drill is a problem, so until we boot all of them out of office, we gotta start some where.

There is no one problem with one magic fix. Much of the problem recently is artificially inflated oil prices caused by pesky day traders.

Yep. But the energy debate has raged on different levels for years. Another issue is that of refineries. We haven't and can't build them due to being tied up in the courts by environmentalists and in the legislatures by...whoever. We could buy all the oil in the world and it won't increase our flow of gasoline. Increase the flow, the demand drops and there goes the prices down.

One of the best things we can do -- and I'm seeing this all over right now -- is to just stop using gas. Many people are doing just that.

I got rid of my car. I use public transit and when I really need a car I rent one for a day or so. I have saved about $200 a month (insurance, maintenance, gas). That # would most likely be higher now with the increase in gas prices. It took awhile to get used to but now it is not a problem.

A little over three years ago I found my dream project car and have since replaced the entire drivetrain. Thanks much in part to gas prices, the car has sat in my driveway for the past two years and for the past week with a for sale sign on it. I just can't justify spending all the money on the parts and then hundreds of dollars just to fuel it.

The county where I live has no mass transit. There is dial-a-ride which is mostly for the elderly to get to their doctors appointments. You have to schedule pick ups and drop offs weeks in advance. The county has just said that mass transit in Charlotte County is years away. Needless to say...it's the car or nothing. We both have cut WAY back on our driving.

I only try to put in 20 bucks per week. Gas keeps going up and up.
