Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

I'm agonizing over whether or not to trade my home DSL for cable internet. The new cable company offers TV, internet and phone service with new underground fiber-optic cable, and free installation. The price is about the same as I pay now for Dish Network TV and Bellsouth phone & internet, but they offer internet that is twice as fast. I'm not always big on change, though. What I have works, but this should work better. Should. That's what worries me. Ugh.

Anyway, it's beautiful outside this morning! I hope y'all have a great day! :D

I will tell ya now..if you have like Verizon dsl I would stick with it. Most cable internet can get bad during prime usage times. They run a scam with advertised speeds and as more allocated bandwidth is used in your area everyone connected slows down.My friend is a tech for Time Warner and showed me how they are overloaded and just keep adding accts. The man could get free service due to working for them..but he pays for Verizon dsl..lol. Alot of people might not see much difference unless you have a heavy household internet use.

Good Morning, MMC Residents!

The latest numbers.
They are here.
Along with the latest news on our next Milestone.

Days to the Season: 89
Days to Christmas Day: 131

Well, Folks. Believe it or not, we are already down to SINGLE DIGITS to our next Milestone marker, the TWO-THIRDS point to Christmas Day 2017.
Yep. Just 9 days away, now. Will wonders never cease?
(I hope not!)

It was just about as humid (96 percent) yesterday as I have ever felt it.
(If the air could be twisted, I could have wrung a glass of water out of it easily.)
Today?
Relief, at "only" 72 percent humidity. But coupled with an air temperature of 91, it's not going to be too pleasant.
Right now, we are already drip-damp, with an opening temperature reading of 75 degrees here in the capital city.

Carl? Well, he's not the least bit worried about the H&H.
The inn's A/C is cranked up, there's plenty of sweet southern iced tea (emphasis placed on the "iced") and the pool is cool. (So is the entertaiment).
Hope to see as many of you there as possible.

In the meantime, you have a Wonderful Wednesday, Friends!
Thxs Crown!! Lol..those nice NC humid days. Keep a eye out for the crazy hurricanes forming up,looks like 2 or 3 in a row incoming.
I remember 1 night I went into downtown Jaxs to meet a relative that was visiting and I was escorting him to our house. It was so humid the steering wheel on the truck was actually sticky from humidity, even the windows fogged up and it was near end of August. He asked if we lived in a jungle..lol

Happy Pines Day! Yesterday I went for my 6 month checkup with the dentist. Cleaning went well and they said see you in 6 months/February. It hit me thinking about that how much will happen before then and that seems eons away. All the Bers and holiday season have to come before that but I really don't want to think about February any time soon lol. Anyway, going to go to Chinese Buffet tonight. Once every couple months it's good but I still am a pizza guy just like I'm a Bers guy. We expect a high in the mid 80s today with mostly sunny skies. Have a good mid-week!
Enjoy the buffet!! Have a great day!

Good Wednesday morning! It's going to be a gorgeous Summer day here. Enjoying the breeze going through the apartment while all the windows and patio door are open. Yesterday at work an auditor showed up for our annual health and safety audit and we scored 95%+. The + is because there are a couple of points to be debated, we'll see. I'm in charge of our health and safety program at work so I'm thrilled with the result. Employees really performed well and answered all of the auditor's questions. I'll bring doughnuts for everyone today to celebrate. Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
Congrats on the good health & safety audit score!! Enjoy your day & your donuts!!!

Happy Pines Day!! Getting back to work yesterday was not too bad, I spent most of the days catching up on emails and new work that I was assigned. Not too much going on today, my daughter has a soccer game tonight and I am hoping to get to the gym. Hope you all have a great day...as we are in the 2nd half of August!
Glad to hear your 1st day back to work wasn't too bad! Hope you have a great day!!!

I don't like changing email/tv, etc either. We do have a bundle package through the cable company & I can't complain, except for the price. There is a new cable co in town that is cheaper, but I hate the thought of changing!!!! Good luck!

What a wonderful thing that anonymous donor does! I am in awe at the kindness of some strangers. I'm in awe that Gracie stays put while receiving acupuncture too, such a good girl. Hope the change in medicine helps with the diarrhea, and I hear probiotics are always a good thing for the digestive system. Have a great day Holiday!
Thanks Martine! I was totally shocked! That was very nice! And yes, Gracie did really well. I think she almost fell asleep!! LOL

I'm so happy to hear that Gracie seems to be getting stronger. I'm praying the new supplements help her improve even more. Thats wonderful about the person that donates the money, I love hearing stories like that. I hope you have a good day and a nice time with your friends tonight. Sending hugs <3
Thanks HMG!! I'm hoping we don't have to go back again this time before her next scheduled appointment which is next Tuesday! xx

Happy Pines Day MMC ~
Busy day so far. My oldest went in to the city to start training for the nursing job. I dropped her off at the train station around 6:00am. I also followed my youngest to the car dealer to drop her Jeep off for an oil change. I'll bring her back to get it when the call. I have a chiropractor appointment later today. I need to stop at Rite Aid at some point to pick up a prescription. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. I'm going to make linguini and bolognese sauce for dinner. I guess that's about it. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
Hope your daughters training goes well, & also your chiro appointment! Your dinner sounds delicious - again! Have a great day!

Cable Internet service that's slower than DSL? That doesn't sound right.

We have TV and Internet (not phone) with our cable company, and service has been very reliable. However, if the cable TV goes out, so does the Internet ... but that's only happened once or twice in the past 5 years or so.
I think I worded that poorly. The cable company has faster internet service than the DSL. LOL

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!

We had another interesting appointment last night with Gracie. He said the diarrhea comes from the medicine. He had her on Yang which was something to support kidneys & the spleen. He thinks her kidneys are functioning well enough now that she does not need all that and it could be causing the diarrhea. So we discontinued that and he put her on another herb that supports only the spleen. He said both her kidneys and spleen feel stronger every time she comes in but the spleen still needs more support.

He said the prescription medicine she was on has her stomach so messed up – he wants me to discontinue one of her prescription meds (amlodapine) from our other vet, which makes me nervous – but I guess we have to trust him. Obviously things weren't working right when she was on them! Both Jim and I feel she would not be with us anymore if we had never gone to see this doctor. He also put her on a new probiotic which has herbs that help promote digestive health.

Something really cool happened when I went to pay…there's an anonymous donor from the Toledo area who every time he comes in donates $1000 to be used towards other people who have been making a lot of visits - they allocate the money to frequent visitors and today we had a $200 credit on our account!! :) How cool is that!? We will definitely be leaving him a thank you note and paying his kindness forward! WOW!!!! ♥

As of now she still has not eaten her food other than the rice with chicken to get some medicine in her. She had diarrhea twice overnight. He said it could take 24-48 hours for that to be corrected.

One of the vet techs was talking Christmas and she told me there was only 132 days to go! (Believe it or not she brought it up) :) So we had a conversation about Christmas while Grace had the needles in her. It was fun! We also talked fall & pumpkin spice and autumn smells…

We went to the Legion for a drink for Jims birthday last night. Tonight we'll be going out to eat with friends. 1st I could use a nap! :p

Everyone, have a great day!!!
Wow, I hope that's the answer you've been looking for!!

I have Bellsouth DSL right now, and I pay for the fastest connection they offer in my area, 6 Mbps. Running speedtest.net, I actually only get 5 download / 0.25 upload.

This new cable company is only offering to businesses in our area right now, but they said my part-time sign rental business is good enough for them LOL. They offer 10 down / 1 up as their slowest plan, which is a big jump for me...if it's reliable.

Still mulling.

Usually those speeds are expressed in the small print as "up to" whatever Mbps ... meaning you're not always going to be getting the advertised speed ... I'm sure you knew that already, though.

They are SO awesome!!! It was a concert we always went too with my brother. He would always get us good tickets. We went once after his passing, but it just wasn't the same. Haven't been back since, but we will go again....one of these years!! It's well worth the price of your ticket!!
